GRS successfully energizes the Molong Solar Farm in Australia
From GRS, we have successfully energized the Molong Solar Farm, owned by Amp Energy, in the Molong region, New South Wales. It’s up and running after delivering its first output last week, taking the preliminary step for its commissioning and the start of the grid connection tests. The photovoltaic project, which occupies 80 hectares of land on which 89,088 photovoltaic modules and 1,024 solar trackers have been installed, has an installed capacity of 39 MWp which will produce approximately 78,000 MWh of clean energy each year.
In addition, once the installation produces 100%, it will supply energy to some 11,000 Australian homes, while avoiding the annual emission of approximately 53,585 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. It is worth noting that we have delivered the project on time, despite the significant challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which demonstrates the professionalism and efficiency of our team in the execution of their projects, adapting to the needs of their clients at all times and accompanying them in each phase of the EPC.
In that way, our General Director in Australia, Carlos López, points out that «the work of all those involved during these months has been fantastic. We are very active in the Australian photovoltaic market, with new contracts and future business opportunities, so successfully achieving the registration of the Molong Solar Farm, in the stipulated time, indicates that we are on the right track«.
Molong Solar Farm is the fourth project that we have energized in Australia, where we have reached 550 MW awarded. Our experience in the country, together with the professionalism of our team, our resources and commitment to the profitability of each project, have strengthened our position as one of the leaders in the Australian photovoltaic market. Currently, the oceanic giant is one of the countries with the greatest commitment and turnover in the renewable energy sector, and it plans to reach 100% renewable generation within the next 10 years. It is therefore a matter of special pride for us to continue achieving milestones and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Objectives set by the country’s government.
